About lazy girl fitness
Welcome to Lazy Girl Fitness, where fitness meets fun, convenience, and results. I’m Ms. Laura N. Nengo, and I started this community to share my mother’s wizard-level approach to health — ridiculously simple, effective, and sustainable — so anyone can reach and maintain their dream body without the stress.
After a challenging period in my life, I realized how cruel most “fitness regimens” can feel. Stress, comfort eating, and the toll of negative hormones left me looking and feeling ugly, drained and frustrated. From this I understood something crucial: when life is already hard, taking care of yourself should never feel like torture. It should be easy, enjoyable, and empowering.
Lucky for me, my mother had already figured out the “lazy girl” method — a way to make fitness fun, simple, and results-driven. I realized I didn’t want to go on this journey alone. Many people, like me, need a practical, enjoyable approach to health. Why keep it to myself when I could share the holy grail?
Lazy Girl Fitness was born from this idea: to meet my own needs and achieve my own dreams and help others meet their needs and support their dreams through a supportive, empowering community where fitness fits your life — not the other way around.
My dream is to have it all, what’s yours?
Ancient Remedies Crafted for Today’s Wellness
Lazy Girl Fitness is built from knowledge passed from a long line of remarkable women, hence forth we honor the wisdom of our ancestors. My grandmother uMankonjeni and her mother before her uMamvelasi were herbalists, therefore using herbs and natural remedies to support health, vitality, and balance has always been part of our lives.
Our African health tonics are inspired by this tradition — simple, natural, and effective ways to support your body. From digestive aids to immunity boosters, these tonics are designed to help you feel your best, naturally.

Lazy Girl Cook Book
The lazy girl cook book was born from the fact that both my grandparents on my mother’s side of the family were diabetic, but they loved their food and didn’t deprive themselves of any tantalizing pleasures. They indulged in all their favorite foods while following a diabetic diet. Years of cooking alongside my grandmother, and cooking for her with my mother, resulted in the Lazy Girl Cookbook: low sugar, low calorie, low alcohol meals, beverages, and desserts — perfect for weight loss and battling insulin resistance.
